Get Engaged in our Committees

Serving on or participating in an FAC committee is one of the best ways to become actively involved in the Florida Airports Council, expand your professional network, and help advance Florida's aviation industry. FAC offers two types of committees, each with a distinct purpose.

Standing Committees

Standing Committees are the governance committees of the Florida Airports Council. These committees perform work on behalf of the Board of Directors and are responsible for advancing the Council's strategic priorities, developing recommendations, and supporting the Board's policy, fiduciary, and oversight responsibilities.

FAC's Standing Committees include:
  • Legislative Affairs (State and Federal Subcommittees)
  • Professional Development
  • Stewardship
  • Membership

Volunteer opportunities for eligible Standing Committees are offered annually through a Call for Volunteers each summer, starting in 2026. Appointments are made based on committee needs and in accordance with the Council's Bylaws.

Professional Committees

Professional Committees are member engagement groups organized around shared professions, technical disciplines, and areas of expertise. Their purpose is to foster collaboration, networking, professional development, and the exchange of industry knowledge and best practices among airport and corporate members.

Professional Committees do not perform governance functions or act on behalf of the Board of Directors. Instead, they serve as collaborative forums where members can discuss emerging industry issues, identify educational opportunities, and share practical experiences that strengthen Florida's airport community.

Current Professional Committees include:
  • Corporate
  • Environmental
  • Facilities
  • Finance & Administration
  • General Aviation
  • Information Technology
  • Legal
  • Noise Abatement & Community Affairs
  • Operations
  • Security

Membership in Professional Committees is open to all FAC members as a member benefit, and members may join or leave a committee at any time.
