tatewide Organization Florida Airport Managers
Association is composed of a membership representing all international, major
hub, medium hub, small hub and reliever airports in Florida and a majority of
all licensed publicly-owned, publicly operated general aviation airports in Florida.
Dedication to Airports Florida Airport Managers
Association is the only organization in Florida dedicated specifically to airports
and to solving airports' problems. The Association's overall program is committed
to continued improvement, development and advancement of airports and aviation
throughout the state.
Strength in Numbers As a member of the Florida
Airport Managers Association, your single voice is magnified statewide. The Association
allows airports united to accomplish those things which no one, or no few of us,
could accomplish alone. FAMA is acclaimed nationwide as being the most effective
state airport association in the country in terms of accomplishments, lobbying
activities and representation before governmental agencies.
Helping Shape Governmental Decisions Florida
Airport Managers Association gets involved in the decision-making process both
in Tallahassee and with Florida's congressional delegation. The Association maintains
a full-time office a block from the state Capitol. When FAMA speaks about airports
in Florida, important people listen.
Support FAMA goes to bat for you. When you
need help the Association is at your service. FAMA is also active in industry
promotion selling the importance of airports from the highest echelons to the
person on the street in every part of the state. Many times, you will find that
FAMA reports, brochures and other materials will help you sell one of your own
programs for your airport.
Exchange of Ideas No single airport executive
knows the best way to solve all the problems and airport manager encounters day-to-day.
But every airport manager does know the best way to solve some problems. FAMA
brings all of this expertise together to assist you in doing a better job. You
gain an opportunity to exchange ideas with many knowledgeable airport people.
You hear experts in their particular fields at FAMA's Annual Meeting in August
and at the Association's Mid-Year meeting each spring. The Association maintains
an Information Exchange (In-Ex) program . . .a repository of rules, ordinances,
programs, legal briefs, court decisions, etc., which have helped an airport(s)
to successfully ease a particularly worrisome problem. Use of In-Ex is available
to member airport executives.
Investment Rugged individualist Theodore Roosevelt
said it well many years ago: "Every man owes a part of his time and money to the
business or industry in which he is engaged. No man has the moral right to withhold
his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within
his sphere." The more you put into your association, the more benefits you get
from it. |
